Armstrong commomerative lecture at Thiruvananthapuram

AASTRO Thiruvananthapuram had its monthly lecture on Neil Armstrong as well as Apollo missions on the back drop of his demise. Mr. P. Radhakrishnan, eminent retired scientist from Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre gave the lecture at Kerala Science and Technology museum on the evening of 6th September.



He talked about Neil's personal life. According to him, he was a man born to fly and a truly adventurous spirit who embarked on a risky space mission in the poor technological conditions in the 60's. He also talked about the Apollo missions and the scientific and political circumstances that lead to it. The failed mission of Apollo 13 was also given stress. An interactive session followed where he answered the questions from the audience and also explained how the Moon landing cannot be just a hoax
